You do not need to photograph everything. A few intentional pictures can tell the story of a day more clearly than hundreds of rushed shots.
Choose a small story
Look for a theme such as street details, a meal, or the way a neighborhood changes through the day. A theme gives your pictures a connection and helps you notice things beyond the best-known viewpoint.
Look at the edges
Before taking the picture, check the frame for distractions and think about where you are standing. Keep clear of traffic, entrances, and narrow paths. A slightly different angle is not worth entering a restricted area or making others move.
Ask when people are the subject
Get permission for a close portrait and respect the answer. Be especially thoughtful in homes, religious spaces, and places of work. Sometimes the right choice is to put the camera away and simply enjoy the moment.
Keep a few notes
Write down the place and why the picture mattered. Those details are useful later if you share the story. Back up your photos in a way that suits your setup, but leave enough phone-free time to experience what you came to see.
